A Modern Wedding at Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg

Set on the shimmering lake with views of the Austrian Alps, this modern wedding at Schloss Leopoldskron felt like a scene straight out of The Sound of Music. The couple, who live in New York City and share a love for the iconic film, chose this breathtaking palace for its cinematic charm and timeless atmosphere. From the first moment, it was clear that this would be a wedding that beautifully blended old-world romance with contemporary style.

Every element was thoughtfully curated by wedding planner Daniela Kainz, who brought together a dream team of creatives to make the vision come to life. Florist Hana Holdener created a striking floral installation of hydrangeas overlooking the lake, seamlessly integrating nature and architecture. Inside the grand ballroom, bold blooms in vibrant pink and red — without a hint of greenery — transformed the space into a modern work of art. The floral design felt fashion-forward yet deeply romantic, perfectly complementing the baroque setting.

The bride wore three stunning gowns by Berta New York, each representing a different mood of the day — from romantic ceremony elegance to sleek evening sophistication. Her look, styled by Charlane Yu, embodied the essence of modern bridal beauty: structured, effortless, and refined. The cake table was another statement moment — a sharply tapered wedding cake surrounded by smaller, artful confections that mirrored the clean, contemporary aesthetic of the celebration. Every detail, from the bold florals to the fashion and design, came together to create a truly modern destination wedding at one of Europe’s most iconic venues.
