I find it hard to believe that it´s been already one year since I participated at the Pearl and Godiva Workshop. Last April I travelled to Umbria in Italy, with my bags full of pleasant anticipation, high expectations, lots of curiosity, many rolls of film and a little tension, to attend the styling workshop with Pearl & Godiva and Erich McVey at the hotel La Badia di Orvieto.
Orvieto is an olive tree-lined gorgeous little town in the Southwest of Umbria and is also called pottery town. Romantic alleys snake their ways through the historic city passing history-charged buildings. The hotel La Badia di Orvieto is a dreamlike and one-of-a-kind location to celebrate ones wedding under Italy´s sun. The imposing and moss-covered stone arch is the perfect backdrop for exchanging wedding vows. I really hope to return to this magical place some day to capture one of the most beautiful days in a couple´s life on my camera.
Here I want to show you some of my favorite pictures shot of this Italian wedding inspiration at La badia di Orvieto. It was a great honor for me to work with amazingly talented artists like Erich McVey, Pearl & Godiva and Saipua. Looking across the great florist´s shoulders, drilling Erich and his adorable wife Amy with questions about photography, listening to Pearl and Sheena´s inspiring words and exchanging experiences with other participants was only a little part of what happened in these days.
Subsequent to this wonderful Pearl & Godiva workshop the girls of A very beloved wedding took us to the Villa Sermolli in Tuscany for another shooting. The pictures that originated there are also here for you to see.
After this week spent in Italy I returned to Vienna with my bags full of beautiful memories, lots of inspirations and a blessed smile on my lips. At least since these wonderful days I lost my heart to Italy and not just because of the delicate food and the delicious wine!
